This week is Data Privacy Week, which aims to raise awareness and promote privacy and data protection best practices for businesses, as well as educate individuals on how to manage personal information and keep it secure.

At ConnexAI, data protection is of paramount importance for our software and for our customers, who work across the healthcare, banking, finance, technology, hospitality, recruitment, customer service and call center industries.

When dealing with oodles of data, hi-spec tech and sensitive information, it is vital that our customers and partners can rely on our systems and trust us to maintain a robust and secure platform. The integrity and security of services and data is our top priority – along with achieving successful campaigns.

That’s why we’re proud to be named a National Cybersecurity Alliance data privacy champion, and fully support the organization’s commitment to improving privacy practices across the globe.

ConnexAI announced as a Champion for Data Privacy Week.

As a business, we have a number of frameworks to enable us to manage risk and provide a sound security culture, including:

  • ISO27001 Information Security recertification
  • ISO22301 Business Continuity
  • ISO9001 Quality
  • HiPAA
  • Cyber Essentials Plus
  • Training and awareness practices for our staff

We also support the National Cybersecurity Alliance’s top tips on how business and individuals can conduct better data privacy practices:

For individuals:

  • Understand the privacy/convenience trade off: make informed decisions about whether to share your personal information with businesses.
  • Manage your privacy: check the privacy and security settings on web services and apps and set them to your comfort level for sharing.
  • Protect your data: keep data secure by creating unique passwords and enabling multifactor authentication.

For businesses:

  • Conduct an assessment: review your data collection practices, and maintain oversight of your partners and vendors as well.
  • Adopt a privacy framework: researching and adopting this can help manage risk and create a culture of privacy in your organization.
  • Educate employees: train staff of your organization’s obligations to protect personal information, and teach employees how to update their privacy and security settings on work and personal accounts.
