We are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join our in-house legal team. The successful candidate will be licensed to practice law in New York and will take primary responsibility for managing all U.S. litigation matters filed in New York. In addition, the attorney will provide broad day-to-day legal support across the business as directed by the General Counsel. Core Responsibilities & Duties:
Lead the Company’s approach to all litigation filed in New York, including case assessment, pleadings, discovery, motions, hearings, and trial preparation.
Instruct, oversee, and collaborate with external counsel as required, ensuring effective strategy, efficient cost management, and high-quality representation.
Provide clear, practical, and timely advice on litigation risk, exposure, settlement negotiations, and dispute resolution strategy.
Support the General Counsel with day-to-day legal work across the Company, including commercial contracts, compliance, employment law, and regulatory issues.
Draft and review pleadings, correspondence, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
Prepare reports and litigation updates for senior management, ensuring the business is informed on risks and developments.
Experience & Qualities
Professional Experience
Admission to practice law in New York.
5+ years’ litigation experience, ideally combining law firm practice with in-house corporate exposure.
Strong understanding of New York state and federal litigation procedures.
Proven ability to handle a broad caseload of commercial, contractual, and regulatory disputes independently.
Exceptional advocacy, negotiation, and drafting skills.
Strong business acumen with the ability to provide balanced, risk-sensitive advice.
Collaborative, solutions-focused, and comfortable working closely with non-legal stakeholders.
High degree of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
Litigation Support
Provide assistance with disputes, including preparing bundles, managing deadlines, liaising with external counsel, and tracking progress.
Drafting/writing letters.
Liaising with the court and external law firms/counsel.
Completion of Disclosure tasks.
Ensuring compliance with court deadlines.
Departmental Support
Maintain organised case files, contract records, and legal correspondence.
Liaise with internal teams (Sales, HR, Finance, Product) to provide legal guidance under supervision.
Handle administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the legal department.
